Open Question: Thai and Muslim marriage?

Not sure if you can help me My partner is Thai (lives in Thailand) I am from the UK and came back here to give birth to our baby, we travel back in January. He is Thai - Muslim, He has asked me to marry him, and I would want to but have heard that Muslim marriages arent legal in the UK. Can anyone help me with this please? Also I am not Muslim and have my own beleifs. I am more of a follower of the Buddhist way, so its all very complicated.
